Increasing the fuel efficiency of your car

You can increase your car’s fuel efficiency simply by maintaining some replacement products and by using some new driving techniques. You have to learn how to buy in a smart way and to tune well.

What to use: new air filter,  tire gauge, trash bin, spark plugs, spark plug cap, spark plug wires, screwdriver, adjustable wrench, extension bar, ratchet wrench, oil filter wrench, motor oil, waste fluid container.

  • Before filling the tank, check the odometer. Read the odometer again when the tank is almost empty. Add a fuel additive in order to add more miles per gallon in the tank. In order to find out the rating of the current miles per gallon, find out the number of gallons that the gas tank holds.
  • Replace the air filter with an upgraded high-flow one and the air intake tube. In order to replace the filters you have to unclasp the stock air box.
  • For replacing the spark plugs and the spark plug wires, disconnect the battery from the electronic system, by loosening and removing the red cable away from the battery. Replace the plugs and wires one at a time in order to make sure you are not mixing anything up.
  • Replace the old oil filter with a new one that can keep oil temperatures down and the fluid flow high.Fill the engine with long life motor oil. Make sure that the fasteners are properly tightened.
  • Try to apply good procedures related to the vehicle weight and the air pressure in the tires, since these 2 aspects can influence losing 35% from the fuel efficiency. Daily check the tire’s air pressure.
