Know to adjust the car’s air brakes

In the situation that your car doesn’t stop as quickly as it used to and you are somehow skilled, you must adjust your air brakes.

Follow these steps:

  1. Get the cat on a flat terrain
  2. Place chocks to the wheel to secure it
  3. Locate the release valve using your owner’s manual
  4. Set off the emergency brake and release the air out
  5. Check with chalk the place where the push rod gets out of the air chamber
  6. Calculate the distance between the mark and the air chamber. It shouldn’t be longer than 3 quarters of an inch
  7. Tighten the slack adjuster with a wrench
